Iasi (Romania) is one of the oldest and most active partners of the ELDW project, working together with the Congress in promoting active citizenship at local level. In 2013, the municipality chose the status of “12 Star City” to give special prominence to its participation. Elena Farca, Head of International Cooperation Office of Iasi City Hall presented the activities organised in the framework of the ELDW, which included the school contest entitled “Mayor for one day”, the exhibition “Me and Europe”, as well as a great number of open air events and debates aiming at encouraging citizen participation at the grassroots level.
