Between 14-20 October 2013, Huddinge (Sweden) municipality held its third Democracy Week, giving special focus to education and youth. In the occasion of ELDW, students had the opportunity to meet local elected representatives, hear lectures on democracy and equality, and share their thoughts about their previous visit to the European Youth Centre of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Human rights and elections were the main topics covered during the 2013 celebration of local democracy in Huddinge. The activities organised in the framework of ELDW were presented by Katharina Wallenborg, chairperson of the Democracy and Equality Committee and Municipal Commissioner, at the general coordination meeting of ELDW, held in Paris, on 14 February 2014.
