Council of Europe develops new educational game
With the aim of teaching children the core values shared across Europe, such as the freedom of expression, a fair justice system, gender equality and diversity, the Council of Europe offers a new educational game entitled “Europe Matters – A Question of Values”. The game, intended for primary and secondary school pupils (8-12 years old), is available free of charge in English and French in PDF, paper and web application versions. The German and Greek versions are in preparation. Upon request and in cooperation with local partners, the game can be developed in other European languages. Given the special focus of the European Local Democracy Week 2016 on education for democratic citizenship and human rights, local authorities are invited to intensify their work with educational institutions and try out the new game, thus enabling students to reflect on the key values in our society.
