The promotion of intercultural dialogue – also the main theme of the European Local Democracy Week in 2016 – will be at the core of the 30th Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, to take place in Strasbourg, France, from 22 to 24 March 2016. Among other items on the agenda, the members (local and regional elected representatives) of the Congress will debate on challenges of creating intercultural societies at local level. On this occasion, the Congress strategy for combating radicalisation in towns and regions, a fundamental reference document of the ELDW 2016, will be presented. Against the background of the current crisis, the Congress will examine the integration of migrants at local level as well as the issue of “Internally displaced persons: the hidden face of the refugee crisis”.
